    Forward-Deployed Engineer

    Houston, TXFull-timeEngineering

    About the role

We're building the AI work environment for oil and gas. Small team, Houston-based, shipping into real operator environments.

We're hiring on our forward-deployed engineering team. This isn't an application and there's no specific req attached. If the work sounds like yours, tell us who you are and we'll reach out when there's a fit.

FDEs are the people who go stand it up. You'll embed with a customer, learn how they actually work, and tailor the system to it. Half engineering, half figuring out what the customer really needs versus what they asked for. You'll be on site, you'll be in the room with engineers and executives, and you'll own the outcome.

Domain expertise is our moat. Anyone can build software for oil and gas. Very few people can walk into a room with a reservoir engineer or a completions team and know what they're talking about. That's the difference between a tool that gets adopted and one that sits unused. So we're looking for people who've actually worked in this industry: operator, service company, consultancy, doesn't matter. You know the workflows, the data, and why the last three software rollouts failed.

What else we care about: strong technical chops, comfort talking to customers without a script, and the judgment to make calls in the field.

    One thing that's non-negotiable

Agentic coding is how we build. Claude Code or an equivalent, as your daily driver, today. Roughly half the commits in our codebase are agent-co-authored. We're not looking for people who want to learn it here. Expect to walk us through your setup and to pair with us live.
